Attention please!

I've decided that this journal is pretty much going to be dedicated from now on to the uninteresting personal details of my uninteresting life. (Did I mention that this journal will be uninteresting?) If you want to read interesting things--and this does include my two cents on graphics and web-design, for those who know me through gnomicons--please hasten to my blog, where interesting-ness awaits you... without nasty, pointed teeth... And besides, the blog has pretty pictures. If you feel the need to follow things via LJ, trygve has been cool enough to set up gnomeblog.

From what I've seen of your personal life so far, it is hardly uninteresting. :PI will be constantly watching both LJ and Design blog. :)

natainlj said...

Well, no, personal life seems so invasive- I meant all those little tidbits you provide. :D

tinusilduitsnand7 said...

But your uninteresting life is what interests me. When I have time to read about it that is. ;)

kcoihcmh said...

Don't worry. I'm not killing this place. There will still be stuff here when you have time to read ;-)

calebbadger said...

Hush, you. The screaming, curious hordes aren't supposed to think my personal life is at all interesting :-PBtw, I'd be commenting on your "new" blog, but I don't have an account with Blogger, so it seems that I can't. :-(

Now watchable through gnomeblog, for those interested.

cantoecooogicl63 said...

Dude! I have LJ syndication! *feels enormously special*

shrihmarclals said...

LOL! As well you should!Sorry for the unimaginative name, though. I tried silverstarlight, but it was taken.

Ha, gnomeblog is cool in my book. I'm known as Gnome anyway, right? ;-)How was racquetball yesterday? If I had any equipment or knowledge of how to play racquetball, I'd consider joining you, but, as I've played it all of once in my life, I don't think I'd be good for much. I was pleased with myself for getting over there to swim yesterday, though.

linguatpiseolar6yahoocom said...

That's no reason not to play, though (if it's something you're interested in, anyway). I showed evil_fizz how to play just a couple months ago (though she's gotten good far faster than most other friends I've played with), and though towerboy had played before, it had been long enough that we started yesterday with a recap of the rules.

he2tafon9p92 said...

Does Veale have equipment for borrow? Giving the game a try might not be bad.

vtgoai75586yahoocom said...

Yup, you just hand over your campus ID for collateral at the equipment desk and as for a racquetball racquet and ball.

Well, there's another possibility on my list of Ways For Me To Get In Shape.

rairbirdcentlal49yahoocom said...

I added gnomeblog to my friends list. So far tho, I've had the comments that are left come up as entries but none of the actual entries that you wrote. Boo!

samexmistake said...

Oh excellent. trygve must have set up the wrong feed as the syndicate. I'll let him know and we'll see if we can't get this worked out.

abrutooacle7 said...

It's come to my attention that gnomeblog is using the wrong RSS feed. The blog has two, one for comments and the other for entries. gnomeblog is currently running the comments one. As the creator of the syndicated account, can you change it over to the right one?

ribddeanao17yahoocom said...

Please disregard the last comment. I just checked the FAQ and I'll have to e-mail LJ to get it changed. No worries. I'll take care of it.

dramacredpuor said...

Oh crap ...No, I can't change an existing feed. The only options for feeds are the URL they watch, and if you're the first person to point LJ to that feed, you get to name it. But there's no way (that I know of) to modify a feed. We'll just have to create another, only now another possible name is taken.Any preference on name? We could probably just try gnome_blog (I don't think that will be too long.

bestholziaydyahoocom said...

Actually, you can e-mail LJ and ask them to fix the feed URL, which I've done, so all we have to do is sit back and wait for it to get fixed. ;-)

tsvoff said...

Excellent... Looking forward to it :)

wwotaoblorbcwm said...

Oh cool, I didn't realize that, thanks! And, btw, that is yet another *awesome* icon. =)

goldtips6285yahoocom said...

I love this icon. I also love my Google!hat. Jedi got it at an ACM event last semester, but it looks silly on him, so he gave it to me :D

tdelahiesway3515 said...

I've e-mailed LJ and they're going to change it. The FAQ says to give it a day or two to straighten out.

mnbhsb said...

Yeah, I got one too (probably at the same event, I'm guessing). I think I gave mine away too, but I don't recall who it went to. (Definitely wouldn't work on me either.)

dghs1ntgeadrk said...

I think part of the reason that it looks okay on me and not on him is that I still have hair sticking out when I'm wearing it. Therefore, I look less like there's something eating my head.

lewtocomputernorwdyahoocom said...

LOL, that's an amusing comparison. =pBut yeah, I think that could definitely apply to me, too.

crwzymindktaorayahoocom said...

I do NOT look like something's eating my head.Okay, yes I do.

osunndoctride1612 said...

*hugs* It's okay. I do, too. I just look like I have something a little less hungry devouring me.

Hi. You don't me and I don't know you but I have a question. I've been trying to find this icon I saw a while back (which my history seems to have forgotten about). It features the Lion King, with Mufasa dead after the stampede and Simba trying to wake him. There's a still picture as the base and then one of those tiny screen blips, you know? I saw some of your other icons on your website and they looked a lot like the one I'm searching for. If you know anything, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm having a really hard time finding this icon.Thanks.~just Mmy

teddiebearra said...

Hmm... I don't know that I've seen it. I wish I had some time to dedicate to searching (Google maybe?), but I'm afraid I've got to be getting to work. I hope you can find it, though!

Grrr! Blogger is proving to be a bit more trouble than I expected, I guess I shouldn't have picked it for nostalgia's sake. Thanks for pointing that out though- I think I'll try an external (and more user-friendly!) comments feature, instead. :)

louiseakawys said...

For what it's worth, I know that there must be some way of allowing non-Blogger users to comment on Blogger blogs because I've got a couple of friends with a Blogger blog that I can comment on.I do wish they'd be sensible enough to use an RSS feed, though ;-)

twhntytwooheone91 said...

This is where I sheepishly admit that I spoke too quickly- evidently I just had to change the settings to "Anyone Can Comment". *cough* :POr at least hope that Thunderbird starts doing Atom. ;)

arsmakert19 said...

I figured ;-)I thought that, actually, but refrained from typing it out of pure laziness.

k5oihcmch5 said...

Hi - this has nothing to do with this post, but where did you get the picture from your current default icon? because it's freaking gorgeous.. (along with your frames icons on your site!) if you could link me to the place where you got it or just send me the full image, I would be eternally greatful! :-D

cancer8859 said...

The images for my default icon and these other Frames/Once icons came from posts Jana (from the official boards) made here.Hope that helps.Looks like you're near my neck of the woods. Going to any Frames gigs if you can?

lexibaby said...

it does! thank you so much! I consume this stuff like it's oxygen.well, as for the Swell Season, I'm going to the Philadelphia gig (I live in Philly) and hopefully both of the New York gigs... and since there haven't been any Frames dates released yet, I dunno about those. ;-P

angel0chek said...

You're welcome. I know what you mean and how you feel.I'm strongly considering going to the Swell Season gig in Philly because I think it would be easier for me to get to from central NY than NYC, but I really have no clue where to stay there. Any ideas of relatively cheap places a poor grad student could stay while still being safe in an unfamiliar city?

moch0leandola4i76 said...

Bank Street Hostel is a few blocks away from the venue. it's pretty cheap, but the rooms aren't private. if you're worried about getting stuff stolen they have locker rentals, though. hope you can make it! should be a great gig.

exp9singtheleft8o said...

That place looks like it would fit the bill. Many thanks! I hope I'll make it and see you there :-)

futebolmesosdoro59 said...

of course, I'm glad to help a Frames fan in need get to a gig! fingers crossed for you to make it. :)

jsseenglishme25 said...

Well, now it's a matter of enticing someone to come with me and working out transportation. I'd rather not come alone (my parents would have a screaming fit, I know), but if I have to... well, a Frames fan does what she must, right? ;-)
