Happy Icon Maker Appreciation Day!
It's impossible for me to say how much many of you effect me, even if I don't use your icons. I have to send out major appreciation to the following icon makers: grass_stained, amazingrando, enigel, stepliana, crackshot, sadako_chan, shinken, snarkel, tristmasjedi, snidgety, gegenschein, saranoh, iconalias, dawnnamira, ethereal_icons, sirendream, etoilepb, and syndarys.I don't doubt that I've left someone out by accident, but, as you can probably guess from that list, there are so many of you that I appreciate that it's next to impossible to set you all down by name. In any case, I raise a toast in honor of you all!

I'm usually terrible to myself in that department, so the change is nice.

*shakes head*Silly L :-P

*bows* Thank you :-)
As per usual. :P
Would we want it any other way? ;-)
Hell, NO!
*feels very important* I influence you? You were the one that got me started making icons. (And I totally forgot IMAD was yesterday *curses her cluttered mind* )
You are important.
Well thank you. *huggles*
My rules state that any usage of my icons must be accompanied by credit in keywords to me, which means that "gnomeofsol" or "gnomicons" should have been present next to the icon when you stole it.As for me being sued by Disney in return for suing you:a) I have not made a profit nor do I intend to make a profit off of their work and b) I would not sue you on grounds of breaking my copyright unless you were using one of the graphics that is 100% my intellectual property. I would sue over bandwidth theft (particularly if I were the owner of sarcastic-muse.com as you seem to have quite a lot of her stuff hotlinked) because that, my dear, is exceedingly illegal and no one would complain one bit about you and your cohorts getting dragged into court over it.
Actually, there was no such link. I wish I could say that there was... I do not steal icons that have copyright logos, nor do I steal from "icon-maker" cliques or journals. How nice for a thief like you to have such high and demanding standards.Hotlinking is NOT illegal, it is just etiquette. I would like to see where you saw that it was illegal.First of all, what part of the words "stealing" and "theft" sound legal and permissable to you? Secondly, given that people have asked that you remove their work and/or stop hotlinking and you haven't, what makes you think that they couldn't sue you if they so desired? You are eating their resources, and causing them to pay more. Frankly, you're eating up Livejournal's resources by quite a lot given the number of pictures you hotlink from here. I want you to know that every single time my journal won't load or I lose an entry I've spent good time typing I know who to blame: people like you who are using resources for which I pay for your own personal usage. There are any number of places on the Internet that can tell you why bandwidth theft is a crime. I've compiled a few links for you, but by all means, Google for it yourself. Given your talent for locating images to steal, I'm quite sure that you're familiar with Google. Why is direct linking such a no-no?WebGuardBandwidth guide at BigDummys.comDon't Even Think About ItWhat are the consequences for bandwidth theftYou know, it seems to me that a better use of the hours you spend searching out graphics to steal would be to spend that time in whatever graphics program you use to really learn the program and make your own graphics. I think you'll get a lot more pleasure out of that, and it certainly doesn't carry the looming threat of a lawsuit the way constant bandwidth theft and copyright infringement does.
hey...i'm starting a new community for my youth ministry down here in akron through greatestjournal. I was wondering if you knew where I could get some christian icons. Thanks!
I don't know of any particular place off the top of my head. You can try Googling for it. If you have any particular ideas, I might be able to customize some of my bases for you.
Just a note to let you know that I'm using the "Must be Monday" Wicked Witch icon and the Rafiki-on-crack icon. They're great, and I'd take more if I wasn't partial to what I've made. ^_^; Thanks! (I credited, I promise.)
Thanks for letting me know!
:) i have liberally partaken of your craft.http://www.livejournal.com/allpics.bml?user=moonsunmonsoonthank you ever so much!
Hi, I was cruising around, looking for a nice friends-only banner, and I found your site. wow. I took the PotC one, but it was a hard choice. I also had to take the 'Fly you fools!' Wizard of Oz icon. Both are definitely credited.
hiya. just wanted to let you know that i really liked your kill bill icons and took a few for possible future use. i'll definitely credit you. thanks!
...to drop you a line & tell you I took some icons of yours. Cary Elwes - "siver tears in your eyes"Westley - "as you wish"Vizzini - "that would be inconceivable" "classic blunder" "I'm waiting"Inigo - "Hello..." we all know the lineAs of right now I'm not using any of them, but if I do I'll be sure to credit.
Oh wow. I just went through your wallpapers & saw the U of A one. I was born & raised in Little Rock. = )
You must be on bandonbanshee's friends list if you saw that Cary Elwes one. I just made it for her the other day. Thanks for letting me know which you took.
I was born and spent most of my life in NW Arkansas. ;-)
I saw it in a post she made in a Princess Bride comm. But anyway, I took this one too. *points*
Yes, well, Homer was quite good, and it's well worth reading. And I frankly wouldn't mind seeing a live action version of the thing, on one condition: they get the freaking story right. To do something like that, of course, they'd have to make it a TV mini-series or something. And, you know, actually read the poem.
Just tell me this - this remark by Paris with the sharp end of the sword - is it really in the movie? No, but it damn well ought to have been. There is an exchange between Hector and Paris (in that scene) that goes something like this:HECTOR: Have you ever killed a man?PARIS: No.HECTOR: Have you ever watched a man die?PARIS: No.HECTOR: I have killed men and I have seen them die, and there is nothing glorious about it.In any case, one does frequently get the impression that Paris is exceedingly slow kind of like Bloom, I think.
I took the "all shall fade" icon, just to let you know...
